growing up?

Yesterday my Love said goodbye to one of his most prized possessions. His motorcycle. His bike was a huge part of who he is. Daring and fun, a need for adventure. It was one of those "grown up" decisions we had to make. I have to say off the bat that it was totally his decision to sell the bike. Him having a sport motorcycle never worried me. The bike hardly got ridden and with doing house renovations, the extra money we knew we could get from it was a huge factor. My amazing hubby sacrificed something he adores for the bigger picture.

Ok, so this post sounds super sappy, I know. If you could have only seen D and I on the car ride home after dropping the bike off. We were feeling pretty sappy!

And then we reminded ourselves that it's just STUFF. We will have another bike someday. Maybe something a little more "grown up" :)

Speaking of feeling grown up, after 6 months of house renovations, we finally got our hardwood floor put it!!!! Funny how those things now excite me :)

Still lots of little things before the house is "done", like the base board trim and door trim, but it's finally coming together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I didn't ever think I'd see the end :) Before and after pictures will be posted when everything is DONE :)

I have the day off! What to do, what to do?? Oh wait, I made a to do list yesterday for today (I know I'm weird!) . . .

- Pick and make Meadow Tea
- Make more salad dressing with my fresh herbs
- Paint the touch up spots in the bedroom
- Spring clean master bedroom and bathroom
And if I get an extra burst of energy I may visit the fabric store :)

My work schedule has been a bit random lately. My nanny job is on hold since the arrival of this little guy:

Parker Ray :) Once his mommy goes back to work in July, I will be a nanny of 2 :) Until then I am picking up extra days at the deli and finishing up random house projects on my off days. And of course, cleaning :) After working kind of crazy hours last week, it's nice to have a few days off this week.

Last night I got my hairs did :) My awesome cousin Marty is a stylist and does a great job! With long hair, I was starting to feel a little boring with the color and feel of my hair (like in above pic). I told her to give it a little more of a fun feel! Here's what I got :) Can you see the reds?? :)

Amazing how much better you feel about yourself after a simple trim and new color! :) Now, I need some sun on my poor white body! Maybe sitting in the sun will be added to today's to do list :)

Speaking of that list . . . Have a fabulous day!

for the first time

Hi mom!
This is primarily for you.

To the rest of the blogging world - hello to you as well!

Since my parents have moved to Texas recently, and D and I are still in Pennsylvania, I thought this may be a fun and creative way for my mom (and dad too!) to keep up with what's happening in our lives (other than the phone, of course!)

So here I am! New to this whole world of blogging and promising myself this will NOT become a new addiction :)
